The Vault

In the library still exists the old vault from when this building housed the local bank. It has become the perfect location for this department. It is a quiet area in the library in which do do research.

The mission of the Owen County Public Library’s Genealogy Department is to provide material and assistance in support of the general public conducting genealogical and historical research with an emphasis on Owen and surrounding counties. There is no charge for researching a request aside from ten cents each for copies made on a Patron’s behalf plus postage if the copies must be mailed but donations are accepted and appreciated.
